Headington, a suburb of Oxford lies to the east of the city. It is a large residential area, built on a hill overlooking the city of Oxford.
Headington is steeped in History with over 50 listed buildings, one of them being the Headington Union Workhouse opened in 1838 with 10 pubs dating back to the late 1800’s/early 1900s.
There are 3 University campuses around Oxford at different locations that make up Oxford Brookes with the Headington  Campus being the faculty for Health and Life Science.
Headington is a short bus ride to the centre of Oxford but if you want to soak up the sights and history of the area there are many walking routes : you can walk past Headington  Manor House,  HeStudent-headington campus-headington-oxfordadington school , then to the University of Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies in its 25 acre site  and past the gardens of Magdalen College.
Headington is a very popular area of Oxford because of the excellent schools and colleges and this is reflected in the house prices with the average overall price being almost £385k. House prices rose last year by 16% on the previous year.
